The Heinrich Hertz was a German physicist, who first achieved the emission, transmission and reception of radio signals. Born on February 22, 1857 in Hamburg, and in 1880 gained his doctorate at the University of Berlin. Confirmed the electromagnetic theory of James Clerk Maxwell and during experiments (1886 - 1889) produced and studied electromagnetic waves (also known as Hertzian waves, or radio). Demonstrated that these are long, transverse waves traveling at the speed of light can be reflected, refracted to, and polarized as the light. Approached the photoelectric effect. versailles Developed the electrodynamics of moving particles. The unit of frequency, in Hertz, named in his honor. In his writings included works such as "The electric waves (1890, TR. 1893) and "Principles of engineering (1894, TR. 1899). Died in Bonn on January 1, 1894 at the age of 37 years.
