The hotels scoot are designed around integrated technology, and as well as enabling booking, the app will give guests control over various room settings, such as temperature, scoot light, and even the channel on the smart TV.
The app also includes a detailed local area guide which works in conjunction with an AR experience in the room to provide a wealth of information on experiences within the city. The Hub by Premier Inn brand has been in development for four years, and aims to capture the imagination of guests who already rely on technology for many other aspects of their lives.

West Lindsey District Council unanimously approved the 3m development in August last year and in October the Department for Communities and Local Government confirmed the decision could be determined locally, effectively giving final approval to the project.
The new scheme will transform the former Sun Inn site on the corner of Market Street and North Street in Gainsborough, the Edwardian style building has been carefully designed to reflect the architecture of the area.

Members of High Peak Borough Council s Development Control Committee will consider beauty and the beast the application to demolish beauty and the beast the former Robin Hood pub on London Road and replace it with a 60-bedroom Premier Inn on Monday.
A report to go before councillors next week shows eleven letters in support of the application have been received with respondents saying it will be a great addition to the services in Buxton, will help the town grow, sort out the eyesore building and provide beauty and the beast a much needed local amenity for local residents who want to walk to a local pub.
One letter of objection has been received raising concerns that smaller B&Bs will go out of business because of the low prices and two letters containing comments about the design of the building have also been received.

Chesham Estates are pleased to confirm the completion msc of the formal agreements with Premier Inn for their new 70 bedroom Hotel and new Brewers Fayre restaurant at the former Honey Club site on West Parade in Rhyl Town Centre. This follows the successful msc grant of planning approval for the development and Chesham Estates will now move to the pre-construction stages of the project in the New Year with a start on site anticipated during the second msc quarter of 2015. Construction is likely to take 12 months. msc Julian Seabrook, Managing Director of Chesham Estates: "I am delighted to have concluded agreements with the team at Premier Inn and very much look forward to delivering this project in the months ahead for the benefit of Rhyl and visitors to the town alike."
Nick Johnston, Acquisitions Manager for Premier Inn, said: "We are delighted msc to have finalised the deal to bring a new 70-bedroom Premier Inn and Brewers Fayre to Rhyl. The deal will help to deliver the regeneration of the former Honey Club site, as well as £5.5million of investment and around 60 new year-round jobs for the local area.

We look forward to opening our doors to customers in 2016.’ Denbighshire's Leader and Cabinet Lead Member for Regeneration, Councillor Hugh Evans OBE, said: "This really is excellent news. "The development of a brand new Premier Inn and Brewer's Fayre Restaurant will see a key strategic site on the promenade being brought back into use and is another msc important step forward in the regeneration of Rhyl both for residents to enjoy and as a visitor destination."

Technology is becoming increasingly prevalent in hotels as a means of providing guests with a better service and improving efficiencies. The SaviOne robot butler , for example, recently began a trial period delivering room service at the Aloft Hotel in Cupertino. Whereas the SaviOne robot can benefit the hotel by automating a process that was previously manual, the aim of the hub hotel app is to improve the comfort of the customer.
The app will allow users to search for and book rooms, as well as check-in online. Once in their room, guests can use the app to change the temperature and lighting according pais to personal preferences, as well as select TV and radio channels and stream content from their smartphone or tablet to the 40-in inch smart screen TV. They will also be able to pre-order the following day's breakfast via the app.
According to Whitbread, the parent-company of hub by Premier Inn, the rooms will be designed to be "compact and clever." At 11.4 sq m (123 sq ft), the size will allow Whitbread to maximize the number of rooms it can fit into a single hotel, helping to keep costs down for guests. Storage space will be built into beds and pull-out desks will slide away when not in use to save space. Each room will feature a Hypnos pocket-sprung bed, a dual-shower ensuite bathroom, and free Wi-Fi.

Middlesbrough Council s executive gave the green light for the hotel in December saying that the development could unlock plans for a multi-million-pound leisure and casino complex tube map in Middlesbrough.

But one reason why we and others did not patronise hotels was because there was almost nothing first flight between the good old B&B, where you might have to mix it with your hosts to a frightening degree, and the luxury hotel which was too expensive and averse to children. If there was a midmarket answer, it resembled Fawlty Towers.
Over the past decade that has changed, with a number of home-grown first flight chains filling the gap in the market. Premier Inn, owned by Whitbread, has just come within 1% of topping the Which? survey of UK hotel chains , with 82% approval. Travelodge came further down the rankings, though its approval increased to 60% from 50 % last year. And Britannia which seems not to have improved over the 15 years since I stayed in a truly benighted example in London s Docklands remains bottom.
