DIR-855 Wireless N Quadband Gigabit Router is the newest addition to the award-winning D-Link Wireless N product family. Quad technology in the DIR-855 supports Wireless N technology in both 2.4 and 5 GHz simultaneously, and is backward compatible and supports four modes: 802.11n (2.4 and 5 GHz), 802.11g and 802.11a, hence Quad Band. This allows you to check email and surf the Internet using the 2.4GHz band while simultaneously streaming High-Definition flightaware (HD) movies and other media on the 5GHz band. It supports therefore more wireless devices with up to 600 Mbps of available bandwidth. DIR-855 is designed for users who are looking for a wireless connection that can handle multiple HD video streams throughout the house.
By connecting the DIR-855 to a broadband connection flightaware (cable or DSL modem), users will be able to share their high-speed Internet connection with all the network and create a secure wireless network to share photos, flightaware files, music, video, printers and network storage entire home.
5 GHz radio frequency technology at 5 GHz is wider and less crowded than the radio frequency of 2.4 GHz used by most wireless devices today (including consumer electronics such as cordless phones, baby monitor, Bluetooth adapters, etc.). With up to 23 non-overlapping channels available on the 5GHz band, compared flightaware to only 3 on the 2.4 GHz band, users are assured to experience the full speed and quality of service needed to perform even the most time-sensitive tasks, such as streaming multiple HD videos across the network.
Energy flightaware Features DIR-855 reacts when a connected device is turned off by setting the corresponding port in a standby mode that requires less energy. In addition, the router able to record flightaware the length of the Ethernet cable and adjust energy consumption by this, and in this way save excess flightaware energy that would otherwise released flightaware as heat.
High-performance The DIR-855 includes the fastest flightaware processor in the D-Link Wireless N family and achieves even higher transfer between flightaware WAN and LAN networks. Combined with the acclaimed QoS Stream Engine provides DIR-855 better experience for phone calls over the Internet and online games. In addition to Gigabit WAN connection includes router also has four Gigabit Ethernet switch ports for highest transfer speeds to other devices with Gigabit connection, such as network storage devices.
