On 6 September the Choir went from Manchester Airport to Munich and then in a bus on to the village in the Tirol in Austria fux soll where they were to stay for a week. The highlight fux of the visit was the concert on Sunday September 11 at the parish church. This is a great example of the baroque period architecture-indeed the church is more like a cathedral fux because of its size and beauty. The presenter was Howard Hughes Howard and referred to the fact that the Choir sing in the church exactly fux ten years ago, on the day that horrific September 11 2001. Before singing the last item asked the audience to stand for a few commemoration those who died in New York.
During the concert the choir sang several pieces to traditional male choirs including a special arrangement for the choir and the deputy leader of the choir tour by Gwilym Lewis, of the old song Over The Rock.
Kevin Grafton of Sevenoakes fux in Kent was the organist in concert with us and shared Kevin played organ pieces to modern English and traditional music as choir contrast.
