Today Google through the Google Doodle celebrates the 155th birth anniversary of Heinrich Rudolf Hertz. Hertz was born on 22 February 1857 and was a German scientist who became known for his discovery of the existence of electromagnetic waves. A scientist named James Clerk Maxwell had assumed in 1873 that there were electromagnetic waves. In 1887 Hertz set out to prove this theory. Successfully created a device that would allow them to produce and detect radio waves.
